Three Hundred

I can hardly believe it: Three hundred posts. I have to stop and let that sink in, honestly.
But I am thankful that God has given me that. I look forward to what He will do from here on out.
As with my previous mile-marker posts, I wanted to share highlights from the previous hundred posts, and today that means sharing my Top Ten posts from that stretch.
I hope that this work has been helpful and meaningful to you, and that it has and will continue to bring honor to God.
Now, on to the list, in no particular order:
Ok, shameless plug, I admit, for the first one. But it is an honest plea. My desire has only grown to pursue this endeavor with gusto.
This post explains a little of what Upward Focus is. In it, I also discuss ways you can support it. No, not just financial support (though it would be an incredible blessing to me; pursuing this as a full-time thing would be wonderful), but support through praying for me and the work here.
On my way to work one day, I was blessed by a beautiful sunrise. But as I observed the hectic traffic around me (and my own hectic heart and mind), I thought about how the sun tells its story day in and day out, unbothered by the hustle and bustle of life down here.
If only we were as consistent with our proclamation of God's story.
Helping with Vacation Bible School is a blessing, if not a bit of work. During the event, I posed a question to the kids, something along the lines of: Why did God make us?
The answers, as you can imagine coming from some fairly young children, were interesting.
I bring that question and some answers to this post.
I am a very nostalgic and thoughtful person. In this post, I explore, in a small way, the idea of nostalgia and how a Christian should view it.
The story of Lazarus is one many Christians, and even many unbelievers, are familiar with. In it are many things we can take away and apply to our own lives.
This particular post looks at something profound that Jesus said: That HE was the resurrection and the life.
No mere man can make such a statement; at least not and still be considered anyone to give any credence to.
But it's also a reminder that salvation is found in Christ. Exclusive in that He is the only way of salvation, but inclusive in that if anyone calls on the name of the Lord, they will be saved.
But don't stop at this post alone, as it is part of a series in which I cover a variety of applications I believe we can draw from the story of Lazarus.

How often do we look for loopholes? I'm not talking about loopholes regarding your taxes or a way out of a ticket. I'm talking about loopholes to excuse sin.
It's something the Pharisees seemed to do, and sadly, something I think we can be guilty of at times.
One area in particular is anger, and I discuss that in this post.
Taking my cue from an old episode of a science fiction show, I look at an area of concern we might overlook regarding robots and A.I.
Will this technology ever rival man? At least, will it ever appear to be equal to man? I fear that if we're not careful, we might start to treat it like it does.
Christians need to be wise and lead the way on ethics regarding A.I. and robotics. Understatement of the month, perhaps.
During my recent trip to Montana, I had a lot of thoughts on the work of photography, specifically how I myself can improve.
It's one thing to know things on paper, but something entirely different to put it into practice. Photography is no exception to that.
But I know not everyone is a photographer. Even so, I believe with some tweaking, these principles for being a better photographer can apply to any work we find to do.
Success can be a fickle thing. I think a lot of us don't really understand what it even is. There's a lot of talk out there about how to be successful, whether in business, finances, marriage, you name it we got it.
But what does it look like for a Christian? And what are the principles that motivate a Christian to success?
This post looks into that in a little bit more detail.
When you're sitting between two people on a cramped airplane, I suppose it is normal for your mind to wander. Mine certainly did as I tried to write while also remaining halfway comfortable in my tiny plane seat.
While I am no physicist, I find it to be an interesting topic. Yet even the deep and mysterious things of our universe can't begin to comprehend our great God who made it all.
At the same time, though He is surrounded by inapproachable light, He has made Himself known through His creation, through His word, and by His Son.
And so, there you have it. Of course, this is just a sampling, and I'm probably a little biased. Even so, I hope you'll find these posts encouraging to you and your faith. Here's to the next three hundred.
