My name is Jeremey Voit. No, that name may not mean much to you, but let me tell you a little bit about myself anyway. I was born in 1986, and I have lived my whole life in the lovely state of Virginia. The most important thing about me is my faith in Jesus Christ; it's what gives meaning to everything that I do. And so I hope that my work points you to Him and His grace.

What started as a photography website has turned into something more. You see, my main goal is to bring glory to God. Specifically, I want to do that by sharing His word through the gifts, talents, abilities, and opportunities He has given me.

​Speaking of photography, let me share some about that. I came to it as an adult in 2012. I was given a camera for my birthday and very quickly decided I was a pro and should do portrait photography. I hope you can sense the hint of sarcasm. Needless to say, it didn't go very far, and the camera ended up in a closet.

​

However, a couple of years passed, and I decided to shoot some nature images around my house. I really enjoyed it, and others seemed to enjoy my work as well. That love for photographing nature has grown over the years. As for the outdoors, in all honesty, I hated it as a child. But I have grown to love it, as photographing nature is a great opportunity for adventure. More than that, I love being able to spend time in nature thinking about the things of God, and documenting His creation. I hope to share some of those times with you.

But my biggest desire is to share God's word. I want to do so in a practical way, helping others to understand that you can trust God and His word. Whether it's trying to find answers to the big questions about the universe, or helping you understand how the Bible impacts our everyday lives, I hope to, in some small way, direct you to Him.

And that’s why Upward Focus. This is where I strive to blend the desires and gifts God has given me to help tell His story, showcase His beauty, proclaim His truth, and tell His gospel.

So, no, my name doesn't mean much. But the name of Jesus means more than life itself, and may you know His love and experience His grace. And may God have all of the glory.
