God Believes In Rest. Do You? A Content Share From Tim Challies

An image of someone resting atop a mountain. Clouds and fog rolling in as bright sun shines overhead.
Not my shot, but boy would I love to be there.

Due to circumstances outside of my control, my planned photo/video trip has been postponed. But I decided to use the time I took off from my day job anyway. Lord willing, it will afford me time to put into this website, but it also gave me a few days of much-needed rest.

I have been accused of being lazy, but one thing I can tell you is that resting does not come naturally to me. Oh, I can waste time, procrastinate, and the like; but actually resting, well, that can be a struggle.

We can go into the why of that at another point, but looking at those few days of rest, I am thankful. I want to recognize that God does give us times of rest, because we need it. And so we should spend time in rest, wisely of course, and be thankful for it.

Well, ironically enough, looking for content to share today, I came across this timely post from Tim Challies.

It's very practical and helpful; it goes against the grind culture that exists today. And that's good, because so often we live as if we're omnipotent, like we're God and we don't need rest.

That's not how He made us, and that's not the pattern He gave us. So be thankful for rest, and enjoy it to His glory.
