Two Hundred Blogs

Yes, today marks the two-hundredth post on here. Regardless of the number of views, I'm very thankful that God has helped and allowed me to write so many.
I really desire that He use this website, despite its (and my own) flaws. I hope that if you've kept up with it, even in part, that you've enjoyed the content here.
In honor of all of that, I'm going to share a handful of my favorite blogs. These might be ones I think are especially helpful, ones I enjoyed writing, or noteworthy shares.
And so, I am going to share five of my favorite posts I've written, and five shares that I enjoyed or found helpful.
I'll start with post shares:
I love things that deal with space and creation, especially the deep things like physics and how things work. One of the biggest challenges put to Christians, however, is: if the creation is young, how do you explain distant starlight?
Put another way, if it takes light billions of years to travel to Earth from a galaxy so far away, how does that fit in a young-earth time frame?
In this post, Dr. Jason Lisle posits an interesting answer to that question.
January 8th was the 70th anniversary of the martyrdom of Jim Elliot and his fellow missionaries. The Gospel Coalition article touches on the day's details. It also shares videos highlighting the events and aftermath, as well as containing a link to a John Piper article. It's an amazing story, and one that every Christian should be aware of.
This being a topic near to my heart, I shared this article from ACBC to serve as a bit of a primer on OCD.
Desiring to do just that, in God's timing, I found this video by Reagan Rose very enlightening and helpful. I hope you will as well, especially if you are considering pursuing something that you are passionate about!
Okay, a bit of cheating here as this is my own content, but it is still somewhat of a share, right?
We can debate the legitimacy of that at a later date. In the meantime, check out my first video. Hopefully the first of many, Lord willing.
Now for posts that I wrote:
This year was a bit of a milestone birthday. It was a good one to be sure, but still a number that could potentially cause some pause.
Even so, in this post, I offer a few thoughts on my life as I face that mid-life number: forty.
Losing my cherished truck of eight years caused a bit of consternation, to be sure. But it also gave cause to thank God, and served as a springboard, looking to our future hope.
In this article, I look to the reality that one day, that which doesn't last, will itself no longer be. That is, one day there will be no more impermanence.
I hope you find it encouraging.
In this trip report, I harken back to my Montana adventure last September.
This particular day was one of challenges, largely some nosy cows.
A bit of comic relief, yet a good lead-in to a more serious topic.
When we experience seasons of chaos, it is easy to go off track. By God's grace, may we get back on track.
I myself have had moments like that, and in this post, I elaborate on that concept.
Lastly, I just enjoyed writing and sharing this article. It's short and simple. But, I also think it is to the point. I hope that it is one that you find helpful and encouraging.
And there you have it. Ten posts from the last one hundred. I hope you'll peruse them and enjoy them, but mostly I hope they point you to God and help you in your walk of faith.
Here's to two hundred more!
