Stop and Smell the... Lilies: That is, Taking Time to Rest

Do you ever find it hard to slow down and let your mind rest? Yes, that's a rhetorical question, as I'm sure you have had times when you struggle to do that.
I know for me, it doesn't take much for my mind to get clogged up, and I need a moment. But sometimes, I don't even do that.
Outside of the house are some beautiful lilies. And they happen to be in full bloom at the moment. While it should have been a no-brainer for me to photograph them, I procrastinate, as is often the case. Instead of taking what should be an enjoyable time, a time to slow down, I have to force myself to go out there and take pictures of them for a blog!
Thankfully, even if just for a moment, I was able to slow down to shoot.

Regardless, I do think this is a good segue into the fact that tomorrow is the Lord's Day. What an opportunity that affords us to worship our God and, if we so choose, to rest.
Rest may take different forms, but may I encourage you to consider taking some time to rest, even if for just tomorrow.
Maybe even take some time to smell the roses. Or lilies, if you prefer.
