Friday Share: AI Is Coming For Your Systematic Theology

Tim Challies offers an, frankly chilling, article touching on the abuses of AI already taking place in the realm of academia and Christian though.

It goes to show that believers need to be armed with the truth, and understand the dangers out there.

While A.I. can be both a fun novelty and helpful tool, it can also be incredibly dangerous to both our learning and our livelihood (learning by taking in unchecked potentially heretical doctrine, and livelihood by stealing human thought and marketing it).

Of course, the root here is not just a machine, but sinful man. A.I. (as of now at least) isn't running itself for these ends; Someone is prompting it to write this slop (as Challies calls it, I firmly agree), and sell it for a quick buck. Greed trumps the welfare of others.

It is pretty bad that we live in a day and age where some random kid from nowhere with no theological understanding at all, can "write" a book, have it published, and sold on Amazon, all without any oversight, quality control, or safeguards. Don't hate the kid, pray for him, and these that throw this garbage at us. And don't be duped into buying it yourself.

While this post is a frustrating read, it's also a very helpful reminder.

There's so much application for the believer in all of this, but I'll sum it up in this: be a warrior for truth, and don't create wealth at the expense of morality and the good of man. And let's keep creating good quality, truthful content, for God's glory and the good of His people.
