The Curse On Noah's Son

A number of years ago, I remember hearing of an idea that, because of Ham's sin and the resulting curse from Noah, that all of Ham's descendants therefore were cursed. In fact, my oft ignorant thinking sometimes would ponder if there was something to the idea that, perhaps, the descendants of Ham were doomed to a life that was not quite as good as Shem or Japheth's offspring.

While I am not a biologist and my knowledge of genes and the like is very limited, I have learned enough to know that to think of the modern-day ethnic diversity we see and try to apply some ancient curse on a particular race, is foolhardy.

But the truth is actually simpler than that, as we can see from this recent video from Ken Ham.

It's really abhorrent that professing believers today want to justify having contempt towards those with differing skin colors by harkening back to Genesis 9.

Even if somehow that curse did apply to all of Ham's descendants, did not Christ become a curse for us, that we might be set free from sin and brought into one body, a body in which there is no longer Greek or Jew? Sigh, I guess Paul's words aren't enough to end any concept of racism for the believer.

Regardless, whatever your view may be on this, Ken Ham offers some pretty simple yet helpful insights into the text surrounding this curse, a curse mind you, which wasn't even directed at Ham. Yes, I learned something new with that one.
